Winston Cardwell, ND, LAc is a board certified and licensed Naturopathic Physician
(Oregon) and acupuncturist (Georgia). He has extensive training and experience in providing complementary treatments for chronic illnesses, pain management, rheumatoid disorders, women’s health, pediatrics, gastroenterology, oncology, cardiology, and advanced intravenous therapies.

Winston Cardwell is trained as a general practitioner/primary care physician and is licensed as such in the state of Oregon. He holds dual degrees as a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.) and a Masters of Science of Oriental Medicine (M.S.O.M) and while he is a licensed physician in the State of Oregon, Georgia confers nor recognizes no such degree and therefore prohibits him from using the title of doctor. He received his training from the oldest naturopathic institution in the country, the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM; formerly the National College of Naturopathic Medicine), a federally accredited and licensed, four year medical school. He has additional training in environmental medicine, integrative oncology, integrative cardiology and integrative pediatrics. During his training with NCNM, Winston Cardwell pursued an additional three year degree in Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM).

The comprehensive approach to wellness he uses includes an extensive historical intake, physical examination, tongue and pulse analysis, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation and dietary recommendations. This is performed while adhering to the tenets of Naturopathic Medicine: Primum no nocere, first do no harm; Tolle Causum, identify and treat the causeas well as the whole person; Vis Medicatrix Naturae, honor and utilize the healing power of nature, Docere, doctor as teacher, and Principiis obsta: sero medicina curatui, Prevention is the best medicine.

Winston Cardwell is originally from Atlanta and has a number of well-known physicians in his extended family, most notably Dr. Phinizy Calhoun Sr, MD, the first to perform surgery at Emory University who also served on the medical faculty for 20 years, and hisson, Dr. Phinizy Calhoun Jr, MD Chairman of Emory University’s Department of Ophthalmology and founder of Emory’s Orthoptic Services, credited with bringing modern ophthalmology to Emory University and the state of Georgia.

He received his B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston and is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (www.naturopathy.org), the Georgia Association of Naturopathic Physicians (www.GANP.org), the Oncology Association of Naturopathic hysicians (www.oncanp.org), the American College for Advancement in Medicine (www.acam.org) the Society for Integrative Oncology (www.sio.org), and the American Herbalist’s Guild (www.americanherbalistsguild.com).
